I was contacted by Amanda Dudley, a local wedding planner, who wanted me to meet a client of hers. At our meeting, the bride discussed her love of flowers, plants and gardens and therefore she wanted a bouquet that relayed those loves. She wanted unique floral material such as brown cosmos & Star of Bethlehem and her color palette was green, brown and ivory.
Unfortunately, the cosmos was just out of season so I brought in monkey tail (fern curls) for the deep brown color . I decided to use brassica (ornamental cabbage), green ranunculus and mixed them among green hydrangeas, white and brown roses, white veronica and hypericum berries. This was a lot of fun to create because I was given free rein, which as an artist is truly a blessing.
